Privacy Policy for Swush

Last Updated: 25.10.2026
1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy applies to the Swush app for Mac, developed by Georgios Andi Avenidis, Berliner Strasse 235, 65205 Wiesbaden, Germany, who is responsible for it. For privacy questions, contact info@georgevalandis.com.

Swush works on your Mac. It has no account, no login, and no servers of its own, and it does not use analytics, advertising, or tracking.

2. Microphone and recordings

Swush uses the microphone only after you start a dictation with the right Command key, and stops when you tap it again or press Escape. Each recording is saved as an audio file in the Swush folder in Library/Application Support on your Mac, together with a local log of the recognized text and timing, so a dictation is not lost if inserting fails. These files stay on your Mac. You can delete them at any time.

3. Speech recognition

By default, Swush uses Apple speech recognition on your Mac. Your audio is not sent to George Valandis or to Apple servers for this; macOS may download language models for on-device recognition.

If you choose Whisper in the menu, Swush downloads the Whisper speech model once from Hugging Face (huggingface.co). Hugging Face receives the technical connection data needed for the download, such as your IP address; see the Hugging Face Privacy Policy. Your recordings are always transcribed on your Mac and are never uploaded.

4. Keyboard, accessibility, and clipboard

Input Monitoring lets Swush notice the right Command key and Escape. Swush does not record or store other keystrokes.

Accessibility lets Swush insert your text into the active app and find the position of the active text field for the confirmation animation. Swush reads the position and type of on-screen elements for this; it does not store or send window content.

To insert text, Swush briefly places it on the clipboard and then restores your previous clipboard content.

5. Claude Code connection (optional)

If you choose “Connect to Claude Code” in the menu, Swush adds a hook to the Claude Code settings on your Mac. Claude Code then passes session events (for example the session title, the latest result, and a link back to the session) to Swush on your Mac, where they appear as cards. This information stays on your Mac. You can disconnect in the same menu.

6. Voice commands

If you use a voice command to open a website or search the web, Swush opens it in your default browser. The website or search provider then receives your request under its own privacy policy.

7. Feedback and support

If you contact support or suggest a feature from the Help menu, your email app opens with our address, the app version, and the macOS version filled in. We only receive what you decide to send and use it only to answer you.

8. Deleting your data

All Swush data is stored on your Mac. To remove it, delete the Swush folder in Library/Application Support and remove the app. If you connected Claude Code, choose “Connect to Claude Code” again first to remove the hook. Backups such as Time Machine are managed by you and macOS.

9. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and objection, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Because Swush keeps your data on your Mac, we usually hold no data about you, except emails you send us. To exercise your rights, contact info@georgevalandis.com.

10. Children

Swush is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

11. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy when the app changes. The date at the top shows the latest version.

12. Contact

If you have questions about privacy, please contact info@georgevalandis.com.
